Food
I think of food in two categories; food you take home to cook, and food that others cook for you. I prefer to eat locally produced food whenever possible.
Washington, NC Local Food:
The freshest, healthiest food is food that is locally grown. We are so lucky here, the quality is excellent, the choices abundant.
- Produce: Fruit, Vegetables, Flowers
- Protein: Meat & Poultry
- Seafood: Shellfish & Finfish
- Beverages: Alcoholic and not
Washington, NC Restaurants:
I use the term loosely, these lists include all the places where other people do the cooking. The entire list takes too long to download, so you'll have to make some choices first, you can search by meal or food type. Each list is alphabetical. National Chains have their own list, with a few exceptions, they are not included elsewhere. The few spots that are not in Washington are worth the drive. Every effort has been made to insure accuracy, but hours change, places close early if it's a slow night, and sometimes they just disappear. I suggest you call before you go.
If you know where you want to go and just need the phone number click here.
Price ranges are for entrees and do not include beverage, tax, or tip. It is customary to tip at least $1 per person if you occupy a table, even at a buffet, even if your bill is under $5.
- $ - under $5
- $$ - $5-$10
- $$$ - $10-$15
- $$$$ - over $15
